It’s easy to see why Alyshia & Martin had a blast celebrating their engagement, and their creative, stylish e-sesh definitely showed a good dose of inspiration. It has all the makings of a beautiful shoot – 1950s vintage-inspired looks, wildly beautiful views, playful beach scenes, and Rowell Photography behind the lens. The adoring glances, cute giggles, and “you are home to me” moments make this session so sweet. Get ready to feel the bright sunset over the water and the infectious love between this adorable duo.
Inspiration and thoughts
Rowell Photography: The first time we met Alyshia & Martin we ended up hanging out at a coffee shop chatting for about 2.5 hours about photography and brainstorming ideas for their engagement shoot. This was even before they booked us for their upcoming Muskoka wedding or their engagement photos.
Sometimes when you meet people who get your vision; who truly love photography and creating as much as you do, things just flow. Ideas just poured out of all of us for this 1950′s inspired engagement session.
Rowell Photography: They wanted to dress up and play the parts of the doting husbands and wives you see in ads from the 1950′s such as Cadillac, Budweiser, Lux soap, and of course, The Saturday Evening Post.
Alyshia borrowed her grandma’s pyjamas and found Martin a pair of vintage shorts and even made a Jell-O mold! They wanted to incorporate their newly renovated house, their love of all things vintage, cooking, and their little puppy Nashville. We photographed a breakfast themed photo shoot right at their dining room table.
Rowell Photography: 6 months later in the summer the fun continued in an outdoor photo shoot that took place at Blue Mountain in Ontario, Canada, and ended at Craigleith Provincial Park Beach as we watched the sunset over the water and captured some addable images, on a hot day.
