Photoshoot inspiration
From the Bride-to-be, Cindy: When you mention Prague, most people think of romantic spots, famous cultural attractions, movies, fairytales, and talented artists/writers. Timon and I have been living in Prague for 2 years, and through our busy daily lives, we see a different perspective of the city and we’d love to show this unique beauty that we’ve experienced through our pre-wedding photos. This thought motivated us to hire Roger Wu to capture our beautiful life in Prague.
A relaxed and joyful “city tour”
Cindy: Our photoshoot was very relaxed and casual. Basically we became the tour guides, and took our photographer, Roger Wu, around the city. We visited many places we love, and had lots of fun just like we what we normally do. It was so natural and stress-free that it just seemed like another ordinary day for me and Timon.
Places to visit
Cindy: We visited Charles Bridge (Karlův Most), Prague Castle (Pražský hrad), Vltava, Královská zahrada, St. Vitus Cathedral (Katedrála svatého Víta, Václava a Vojtěcha), Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí), and Prague Astronomical Clock (Orloj). We love everything about this city; the smell of coffee mixed with Medovník cake, and old train (Tramvaj) passing by, the artists painting, and the folk songs sang by musicians on the streets.
An unforgettable experience
From the photographer, Roger Wu: In the evening when we visited the Golden Lane (Zlatá ulička), it started to rain a bit. When we reached St. Vitus Cathedral, it was raining quite heavily and we couldn’t keep shooting anymore. We had to take a rest and wait for the rain to stop.
I was planning to take a few shots from the Old Town Square to capture the city view, but it was getting dark and the rain just wouldn’t stop. When I was getting disappointed about not being able to carry out my plans, the sky turned dark blue in the rain, along with golden lights on the street all around us, we managed to take some shots that were even better than what I had planned! I guess the best thing about a destination photoshoot is that there are always fresh, exciting surprises waiting for you to explore!
New vision & life
Roger Wu Photography: “Empties” (“Vratné lahve”) is one of my all time favorite movies, and I’ve always wanted to live like the main character, Josef Tkaloun, and explore Czech Republic with an unique vision. I was so excited to actually experience some of the scenes from the movie in this trip. My feelings and thoughts can be illustrated through this quote from The Secret Life of Walter Mitty: “To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer,to find each other and to feel. That is the purpose of life”.
