The Love Story
From the Bride, Denise: We were introduced by a mutual friend at a house party. He proposed at cafe in Shanghai where we first met, with friends and family present!
Wedding Theme
Color Palettes: white, gold & dusty blue
Theme & Style: natural and simple
Wedding Planning Process
Denise: I focused more on the design, theme and details, while my husband focused on the budgets, settling with all the vendors and keeping me on track with our timeline. We split the work equally to avoid being stressed out. Our planning steps were as follows:
1. Decide on a venue
2. Set the guest number based on the venue
3. Set a budget
4. Select a wedding planner (most preferably a local one at the destination of the wedding)
5. Pick out the most important aspects of the wedding and allocate the budget accordingly
6. Settle on vendors (florist & decor team, photographer, and videographer)
Bridal Party Outfits
Denise: We wanted the whole wedding theme to be black tie formal and the wedding party dress-code were based on that. The bridesmaid dress color was dusty blue to match the theme color of the wedding. The groomsmen were all in black tuxedos.
Favorite Wedding Details
Denise: Our favorite details were the flowers and the live string quartet during the garden ceremony. It was amazing to have live music!
Most Memorable Wedding Moment
Denise: The most memorable moment of our wedding was when we walked down the aisle and when we exchanged our vows.
Advice For Others
From the Couple, Denise + Watson: Take time to enjoy the process especially the whole wedding day. Don’t get too caught up with the details, because guests are going to enjoy the day regardless.
Pick a few things that are the most important to you, whether it be the venue, food or decor, and make your most important decisions based on them. It will make the decision-making process less difficult. Hire a proper wedding photographer because they will record the most important moment of your life! Pick one that is closest to you own personal taste and style.
Thoughts From the Photographer
Allen Fu: I am extremely honored to have been the photographer for Denise and Watson’s destination wedding in Kenting, Taiwan. Gloria Manor is one of the most secluded resort in Taiwan which is located right in the middle of our Kenting National Park, needless to say the view and the surroundings were absolutely magnificent!
Normally I would arrive at the venue a day or two ahead of the wedding day to scout the location, which would give me the chance to see the rehearsal the day before. As we were rehearsing I quickly noticed if we were to continue the outdoor ceremony as planned, the lighting would not have been pleasing for the photographs, thanks to Denise and Waston’s trust in me we actually moved the ceremy to a more optimal location that would not only take in the view of the surroundings but ultilise the sun at a better angle! This is why it is very important for us photographers to be there before the wedding day!
Beautiful photographs of the wedding not only comes from the photographer but from all the hard working venders as well, I am super proud to be working with all other venders who made what you see in the photographs possible! Last but not least, thank you Denise and Watson for puting your trust in me and valued my inputs, wish you a wonderful marriage! God bless!
