This couple is so in love, it’s contagious. The very first second we put our eyes on their smiling faces and non-stop joy, our hearts were touched. And their wedding? A beautiful day filled with laughter and blessings like no other, where every moment was one that was rich with meaning. Deborah and Joshua were high school sweethearts, and they managed to keep their relationship fresh and sweet over the years. Just like their loving relationship, this wedding is a real celebration of love, with emotional images captured by the talented Joseph Yap of Bittersweet Photography. Join us as we share Deborah and Joshua’s wedding memories.
Thoughts from the photographer:
Joseph Yap: Joshua and Deborah’s wedding was really special. Having dated since Secondary school, they have “grown up together”, but what really amazed me was still just how much in love they were.
I know this is somewhat of a stereotype, but you do have to admit that many couples who have been together for more than 10 years tend to act more like old married couples rather than teenagers. This was not the case for Joshua and Deborah. They seemed like new lovers to me, like they had just met yesterday, like they were still 18 years old. It was so lovely to winess this lasting passion between them, and so joyful to see the couple soaking in happiness on their wedding day.

Joseph Yap: To me, bittersweet is the perfect word to describe “weddings”. It feels like going to the airport to see a friend leaving to study abroad, or a family member going to pursue his dream overseas. There will be tears, blessings, smiles, and an overwhelming sense of love, nostalgia, and memories. How much more, then, are weddings?
As the father walks his daughter down the aisle and stands to respond that he is ready to release her to be with the man of her dreams, he recalls her childhood, her foolish times, and the love and happines she has brought to his life.
It’s love. It’s life. It’s bittersweet.
