True love can reach across any distance
Melissa & David’s relationship is a journey of love and courage. Between Norway and Taiwan, this couple went through many long-distance challenges and bittersweet moments, but their strong love for each other conquered all obstacles.
Their never-ending chats started from a discussion about the movie – 500 Days of Summer. They both love the movie and the soundtrack, and couldn’t stop talking about this common passion they shared.
When Melissa & David “officially” started dating, long-distance immediately became their biggest challenge. They could only meet once in a few months, but because of this, they also learned to cherish every moment they spent together and appreciate each other even more.
Melissa loves how David is always very considerate, smart, and often gives her intelligent advices. Most importantly, he cares a lot about her family. David loves Melissa’s passionate personality and beautiful smile. She always brings him so much joy. They are looking forward to their brand new journey ahead, where they can stay together for life.
Photoshoot Inspiration
PURE FOTOGRAPHY: We wanted to make this engagement session truly “personal” to Melissa and David, so we started by gathering ideas from their passion and background.
David came from Norway, a very beautiful place surrounded by stunning natural scenery. He loves Japanese culture and Taipei 101. Melissa was born and raised in Taiwan. After some brainstorming, we decided to incorporate all these characteristics into the photoshoot.
We picked Mt. YangMing National Park to present David’s natural rustic lifestyle, and a Japanese cultural venue to show their passion. Melissa picked a red traditional dress to go with the Japanese setting.
Unforgettable Impression
PURE FOTOGRAPHY: When we first met Melissa, she was wearing a white T-shirt with jeans and looked very easy-going. Her beautiful smile immediately caught our attention. She managed to do all the wedding preparation and planning herself while David was still in Norway, and she was not nervous at all! The fact that she was meeting us alone did not steal away her joy at all! Such an optimistic and independent bride-to-be!
We started “imagining” what David is like by browsing through Melissa’s Facebook photos and records, trying to come up with some ideas for their photoshoot. All we knew was that David was Melissa’s trainer. When we finally got to meet David, his gentleness and love for Melissa almost shocked us! They are such a sweet couple and totally meant to be!

Her gorgeous smile made everything seem so natural as if we were just having a casual date with this adorable couple. We had lots of fun and really enjoyed the shooting process.
