Esther & Dennis’ engagement session is all about love. The love between this seriously adorable and talented duo is so pure that each candid moment captured by German photographer Kevin Klein truly melts our hearts. When Kevin Kelin sent this shoot our way, we were amazed by how simple and minimalistic it could be to illustrate love. True romance is reflected through the natural, unabashed interaction between the couple. The contrast between the indoor and outdoor sessions is simply inspiring. The love story
Esther & Dennis first met at a Christian summer camp, but didn’t start dating till more than a year after their first encounter. They are both passionate artists and love art in every way. Esther writes for a newspaper and some amazing inspirational blogs, and Dennis is an incredible web designer. The creative duo has been together since 2012, and is getting married this year.
Thoughts from the photographer
Kevin Klein: Esther & Dennis’ engagement shoot includes 2 sessions. For the first outdoor session, I took the couple to an empty street that runs through a small village in Germany. I thought it was the perfect location, because walking on a street with almost no cars really allowed us to get to know each other well and capture some natural moments and interaction between the couple.
For the second session, I wanted to focus only on the “love” between Esther & Dennis, and decided to keep the setting and background as simple as possible. We had a casual breakfast at Dennis’ office and did the photoshoot there with natural window light. It was my first time shooting an engagement session indoors, but I love to step out of my comfort zone and try new things. In this particular session, I wanted to show that engagement photos should be all about true love, and not the location or any other fancy elements, because love itself is the most beautiful and precious thing.
About the photographer – Kevin Klein
Kevin Klein: I love stories, but I know I’m not a good storyteller through words, so I’ve been searching for a way to express my passion and tell the stories around me – and I found photography. I’m 21 years old and I’ve been a photographer for more than a year. Natural light is my best friend when I shoot, and I love getting out just to enjoy nature’s embrace. Shooting outdoors is definitely my favorite thing to do.
