It doesn’t get any sweeter than high school sweethearts tying the knot in a beautiful wedding that touches your heart. Emma & Sam are both designers by trade, so it’s no surprise that their gorgeous Bunker Bay wedding was chock-full of fun and personal details, handcrafted by the two of them. The love story
It was Emma who first popped the question to Sam in grade 11: “Will you go out with me?” This started their lasting relationship. They now work together in Merge Designs, their very own building and interior design company.
The proposal
Sam proposed to Emma over dinner on a memorable holiday to Phuket, Thailand. He chose to propose on their 10th anniversary at an Italian restaurant overlooking the shoreline of the beach in Phuket.
Emma was greeted by a bunch of flowers at the table and lots of funny smiles from the staff. After dinner, Sam started looking very nervous and finally asked Emma to marry him. With tears of joy, Emma said yes!

Ben Yew Photography: The awesome couple (being a building and interior design company) have a nice layout of the ceremony and reception venue.
The theme colours were amazing and I really love the bouquet. It was an array of many types of flowers in watercolour tones of soft pinks, peaches, lilacs, creams, whites and silvery blues.
The highlight of the day was the releasing of butterflies during the ceremony. Emma went into great details for her wedding and Pullman Resort at Bunker Bay was also the perfect choice.
Advice from the bride
From the bride (Emma): Planning a wedding can be very hectic, but don’t forget to drink lots of water, eat healthy food, exercise regularly and get plenty of sleep so that you look and feel good. And most of all, enjoy the special moment – it is the happiest time so make the most of it!
Gorgeous Flowers
Emma: Growing up, I always wanted to be a florist and I just absolutely adore flowers, so it was very important to me to be surrounded by them on our big day. I went for lots of different types of flowers with soft, watercolour tones and texture with berries and foliage. Our florist was just amazing and absolutely nailed it!
