Baby Jives focuses on the creation of modern heirlooms inspired by the world around us. Owner and designer, Jahje Ives, shares, “I believe the things we surround our children with should be as wonderful and imaginative as they are. With that in mind, I am trying to make a bit of magic that will last long after the crib is gone.” Each mobile is designed by Jahje and then tested by her little ones for its ability to enchant.
How the story began
When Jahje Ives was pregnant with her first child, she went through some serious nesting. With a penchant for modern design and a background in fine arts, she knew she didn’t want a nursery like every other. She partnered with her husband to design and paint an elegant and whimsical mural inspired by nature. Then in her final month of nesting, she focused on creating an element of art that could move and entrance their new baby; in other words – a mobile.
