Love Story
The couple met through a common friend in Mandaluyong City, Phillipines, and Christian proposed to Kat on Oct. 30 in Venice, 2 years after they are reportedly met in 2015.
Multi-Cultural Welcome Dinner
The wedding was ushered in on November 16, 2018 with a welcome dinner in a Balinese-Indian-themed party at the Stone House by Tirtha, located on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean. The wedding was attended by around 80 family members and few close friends and colleagues who flew from India, England, Manila, Jakarta, Singapore, USA and Korea.
The bride has Indian roots and would like to have a fun, colorful Indian themed party where everyone dressed accordingly with decorations that revealed a combination of Indian x Balinese traditions.
The bride dressed up in a Gagra choli, a combination of midriff-baring blouse and long embroidered skirt while the groom wore a sherwani.
The Ceremony
The ceremony took place the next day at Tirtha Uluwatu Glass Chapel that overlooks at the vast Indian Ocean. The bride wore a romantic lacey chocolate champagne colored Inbal Dror gown and the groom wore a green velvet suit by Francis Libiran.
White Affair
Wedding specialist Tirtha Bridal and wedding planner Luckynine Bali collaborated to pull off the couple’s beautiful wedding that was capped off with an all-white reception with a theme called White Affair, where the idea is to have something completely contrast to the colorful Welcome Dinner theme.
All white elegant with minimal flora, a stunning giant 4 tiers baby breath chandelier with tassel fairy lights, ethereal hanging glass vases and sparklers.
The Reception
Guests were treated to a four-course wine pairing fine dining menu at Plumeria Room of The Glass House, hosted personally by Tirtha’s two times award-winner sommelier, Mr. Daisuke Kawai, which also the Director and Chief Sommelier at La Terre, a luxury wine bar in Singapore.
The wedding cake was a highlight of its own! A 4-tiered completely edible semi-naked donut cake embellished with donuts and rosemary for an added pop of color stood strong against the Bali heat and made its debut at the after party prepared by Naked Patisserie owner himself, Christian Mark Jacobs, known as the specialist in bespoke Weddings & Events cakes in Philippines.
The entertainment was presented by Quark Henares and Mike Blanding (director of Corporate Responsibility for InterContinental Hotels Group), Pinoy famous singer, Erik Santos sang The Last Time I’ll Fall in Love, followed by the groom’s brother, Mark Bautista then by Sam Concepcion who is a known singer, dancer, actor and host in Philippines.
The After Party
The after party took place at the Moonlight Garden just below the dining venue, breathtakingly decorated with fairy lights, cozy natural theme seating areas including a lovely corner set with Japanese styled bamboo fan and white flip-flops to allow guests switch their high heels so they can dance the evening away.
The after party was kicked off with a surprised song for Christian from Kat who has been practicing singing while playing ukulele secretly for four months, tailed by the super talented band from Bali, WeareManja and closed by DJ Inaki Ting who is also a personal friend of the groom for a terrific fun silence disco time.
The couple is having another wedding reception in their home country, Philippines a month later and plan to have their honeymon in Africa next year.
