Wedding planning and designs
When Chris and Kamelli started planning their wedding with the help of All & Sundry Collective, they knew that they wanted a small, simple daytime wedding and that The Britannia Heritage Shipyard was the perfect location, as Richmond, BC is a place near and dear to both their hearts.
Their budget was small, but the bride and her friends did a lot of thrifting and worked late into the night on DIY projects such as the pennants, chair ribbons, table runners, and cake-toppers to add those extra touches that made the event so special.
All & Sundry had connections with a local urban farmer and was able to secure buckets of wildflowers for the floral arrangements, including the brideʼs favourite sweet pea flowers, which not only look beautiful, but smell amazing and made the bouquets the talk of the reception!
After a short (but sweet!) civil ceremony, everyone dined on a late lunch of organic sandwiches and salads, followed by a dessert buffet of assorted cakes, handmade marshmallows, and fruit from the local farmerʼs market, and proceeded to make merry, take photos at the polaroid photo booth supplied by photographer Tomasz Wagner of Mananetwork, and have an all around smashing good time!

Tomasz Wagner: This rustic wedding was one of the most beautiful events I’ve ever attended. 45 guests assembled at the Britannia Heritage Shipyard and Chinese Bunkhouse for the wedding of Kamelli and Chris.
All of our teams—wedding photography, wedding videography by Mananetwork Films, and Polaroid Photobooth—documented the afternoon wedding.
I know for a fact that a lot of work and creative energy went into personalizing the wedding. It was interesting to witness: most of the brainstorming took place via phone and email chains between the Alberta-based bride (Kamelli) and her Vancouver-based Maid of Honour (Amy) and when July rolled around, the two of them gathered their friends from high school for an intense 3 weeks of DIY magic-mayhem. In my living room.
Nearly everything in use for the wedding decor-wise was thrifted, borrowed, or hand-crafted. Kamelli and Amy were inventive with their use of fabrics and glass and resourceful with their hung decorations and smaller decor items. For example, a good amount of the flowers and herbs used in the rustic floral arrangements was grown by Kamelli’s mother and Amy; in keeping with their commitment to local, sustainable, and budget-friendly options, the rest of the floral was sourced from a local organics grocer and urban farmer, Farmers on 57th.
I noticed that their design aesthetic worked really well with the heritage venue, not to mention that they had a unconventional way of doing things that simply worked. For anyone who knows them, it’s not surprising that the creative brains behind the shared blog, A Bushel and Peck, have started a new business that allows clients to enjoy their unique way of approaching projects, namely events.
