When it comes to finding the perfect wedding-day hairstyle, face shape matters! You’ve probably noticed that some hairstyles look awesome on one person but not another, and it’s most likely because of the symmetry and proportions in response to different face shapes. If you’re not sure what bridal hairstyles might work best for you, here is a simple guide to get you started based on the five basic face shapes.

 

Round Face

Tips: Give height to help lengthen the face, break up the roundness to flatter the shape.
Try: Side-swept long fringe, loosely down, side-swept curls, classic topknot, half-up-half-down

Oval Face

Tips: Add width to break up the legnth
Try: blunt fringe, polished ponytail, loose waves, off-center part

Square Face

Tips: Add texture, waves and curls to add femininity and softness, balance out the angles
Try: fringe that grows longer at the sides, low ponytail, pin one side of your hair up behind your ear

Heart Shape

Tips: Accentuate cheekbones, add width to a narrow jaw
Try:  Side-parted waves, messy side bun, side part with braids, textured bob
