A girly tea party offers the perfect opportunity to put on the most gorgeous and dreamy dresses, indulge in sweet treats, and celebrate love in a fun way. There’s just so much about today’s styled shoot designed by Kathryn Bass Bridal that we utterly love! It’s glittery, romantic, feminine, and shows gold at its finest, paired with hues of soft pink and classy emerald. It’s also a new take on bridal styled shoots, with just the bride and her adorable flower girl spreading pure joy and love. Sit back and enjoy a good dose of sweet inspiration below.
Inspiration & Theme
Kathryn Bass: Glitter, gold, girly. We elected to shoot in studio because we wanted a clean set to make our mess. We had so many decor elements (balloons, petals, glitter, cakes, florals, streamers), we didn’t want distractions of another setting to distract from that.
We described the theme to the other vendors as a “glitter tea party” and let them be creative with that. They each did such an amazing job in their own area and everything came together naturally.
Story behind the shoot
Kathryn Bass: This shoot came about after my sister’s winter wedding. The lace gown was her wedding gown and we wanted the opportunity to take some more photos in a location that wasn’t filled with snowbanks and freezing temperatures. Conveniently, my daughter loved her flower girl dress and was more than happy to put it on again. Once all the other elements of the shoot started coming together, we decided to make them each a second dress. The tulle dresses provided the whimsy to compliment the elegance of the other gowns.
Thoughts from the dress designer and styled shoot planner
Kathryn Bass: This session allowed us to fully indulge in fun, girly goodness. We wanted to do something a little different from the standard bride and groom shoot (and really, what groom wants to play in glitter?). We chose to instead shoot a bride with her flower girl, and we mostly just let them play! It was the kind of project that made us giddy to plan, and we were so incredibly thrilled with the outcome. The look of excitement on the flower girl’s face sums up the feeling pretty well.
About Kathryn Bass Bridal
Our studio is small and intimate which allows us to focus on one bride at a time without any distractions. We have designed our process to be very thorough; it includes a custom design, personal pattern draft, muslin fitting, as well as several other fittings along the way. The client is included with decisions at each step, allowing them to be involved in the creative process and be a part of their gown coming together.
